Each birth date is reduced to a single digit (1 to 9) or a Master Number (11, 22, or 33). The method adds every individual digit of the date together, then continues reducing until one number remains. Master Numbers are never reduced further because they carry amplified spiritual significance.
Numbers Are Compared Across Four Dimensions
Both Life Path Numbers are run through our compatibility matrix, which evaluates the pairing across four distinct dimensions: emotional harmony, communication style, shared values, and growth potential. Each dimension receives its own score.

How Life Path Numbers Are Calculated
The Life Path Number is the most important number in numerology. It represents the core of who you are and is calculated by reducing your full date of birth to a single digit or Master Number. Here is an example showing exactly how the calculation works.
If the sum at any point equals 11, 22, or 33, the reduction stops. These are Master Numbers and they carry special significance. For instance, a birth date that sums to 33 stays as 33 rather than being reduced to 6.
This method is consistent and objective. The same birth date will always produce the same Life Path Number, regardless of when or how many times you run the calculation.
The Four Dimensions of Compatibility
Our calculator does not produce a single vague score. It evaluates every pairing across four specific dimensions, each measuring a different aspect of how two people interact. Here is what each dimension means and what it measures.

Each dimension is scored independently, and the overall compatibility percentage reflects a weighted combination of all four. This means two people might score very high in emotional harmony but lower in communication, giving a nuanced picture rather than a simplistic good or bad verdict.
The 45 Pair Compatibility Matrix
There are 9 single digit Life Path Numbers (1 through 9), which creates 45 unique possible pairings when you account for every combination. Our calculator contains individually researched data for all 45 pairs. This is not a formula that generates generic text. Each pairing has its own unique compatibility scores across all four dimensions, its own narrative, its own strengths, and its own growth areas.
What this means for you: When you receive a reading for Life Path 4 and Life Path 7, that reading was specifically written for the 4 and 7 pairing. It is not recycled from any other combination. Every word applies directly to the dynamic between those two numbers.
